Updated announcements
Recommendation - You should be thinking about trying to read/review 10 questions a day or reading in one of the reference books for 10 minutes a day. It is doing this small amount over a longer period of time that will help you learn/remember. (Just keep trying to do it - "Do what you can, when you can, the best you can!"
1. Our next meeting is Monday, March 2nd at the Extension Office 6:30-7:30pm - Book reviews
- Practice with buzzers
- Registration for Goat Expo
Please take a look at the enclosed registration booklet to see if there are any individual events you would like to participate in. We will be filling out the paperwork and leaving it at the extension office during this meeting. I am signing everyone up for TEAM quiz bowl and TEAM skillathon events - if you do not want to particiapte in skillathon, please let me know. (You will also need to pay for your entries on this day - it will be $6.00 for the TEAM events [$2 for participation fee, $2 for each event] and then add on $2 for each individual event you choose to particiapte in).
2. Saturday, March 21st is GOAT FUN DAY @ the extension office. If you have not registered, please do so right away so you can be included in the free lunch count.
- Education Poster - please bring an educational poster to this event. (You can also sign up to take this same Poster to the Goat Expo - it is one of the individual events you can enter............and you can also take this same poster to our Local KCYF in August. I've already checked and there is no conflicts in doing this).
3. QB questions - I will be eMAILING the list of everyone's questions in the next day or so. I will also be eMAILING you the questions from our Kent County QB events in 07 and 08 that Tena Bartholomew sorted by category - making it easier to study from. ALL of these are great resources to study from.
4. Do you know the ADGA Scorecard yet?

Initial Announcement - Quiz Bowl starts February 5th
1.8.09 ANNOUNCEMENT to ALL KENT COUNTY GOAT FAMILIES
Quiz Bowl Team is beginning on February 5th!
The 2009 Kent County Goat Quiz Bowl Team is open to any 4-H youth in Kent County. We may be able to have a Sr. and a Jr. Team this year - depending on the number of participants we have. The team will be meeting twice a month in February, March & April – with the State Goat Expo event being held on Saturday, April 25, 2009.
Mark your calendar for our initial meeting for Thursday, February 5th from 7-8pm at my home in Cedar Springs (sorry the extension office is booked full). This will be a brief meeting to set up the Team(s), review general rules, schedule future meetings, decide on t-shirts and assign areas of specialty for studying.
If you think you might be interested – please let me know. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and even if you choose not to do the quiz bowl you can still participate in the other State Goat Expo events. Please eMAIL me at Lori_greenacres@yahoo.com
Additional Information can be found under the “2009” link on our website - http://goatdevelopmentalcommittee.blogspot.com
PS - Congratulations again to our 2008 4th place Team (it was our first year too!) Looking forward to a great 2009!
